Hi there,

I think I've found the link you are looking for -  its between Rev Evan Jones and his grandson Evan Hart

Little Baddow non-conformist registers

26 Nov 1777 Evan 'son of my son and daughter Hart in private at Little Baddow born 25 Oct 1777.'

The inscription at the front of the book reads 'A register of children baptised by E Jones after his removal from Reading and being chosen and settled at Little Baddow in Essex'.

There were some other baptisms as well

12 Apr 1768 Mary d/o Mr Wm and Mrs Mary Hart in private
8 Feb 1771 Ann d/o Mr Jeremiah and Mrs Priscilla Hart in private at Boreham
1 Jan 1772 Samuel s/o Mr William and Mrs Mary Hart  in private at Baddow born 24 Nov 1771
20 Mar 1776 Mary d/o Mr William and Mrs Mary Hart in private (at my own house) in Little Baddow born Jan 8

For the last two half the page was torn away

27 Mar 1779 Elizabeth d/o Mr Jeremiah ..............  Hart in private at Boreham
13 Jan 1780 Noah s/o Mr Wm and Mrs................ at Little Baddow born D....

also at the parish church there was the burial of Evan Jones on 20 Feb 1780 'dissenting minister in this parish buried in the Meeting House.'

Regards

Its very interesting as there are no HARTS in Little Baddow in 1941 census
just need to link in to a Evan Hart born around 1780 also son of evan Hart

Simon,
the info is from the essex record office, the parish registers and the non-conformist registers. perhaps the family moved away after the death of Evan Jones in 1780
