Great Grandfather, Connaught Rangers

Hello
I've recently found out that my Great Grandfather, William Clifford enlisted with the Connaught Rangers during WWI and I'd like to find out a bit more information about what records and the sort that I can gain access to.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Cheryl,
I can find a Medal Index Card to a William Clifford, Pte 5079, Connaught Rangers.
He was awarded the British War and Victory Medals. Also the 1915 Star, Theatre of War 2(B) Balkans, entry date 3.10.15.
He was discharged due to sickness or wounds and awarded Silver War Badge.
The link below will explain the qualifications for the awards:

He was probably a replacement in 5th (Service) Battalion, joining them at Mudros, going by the date of entry.

If his service record has survived, it should be on Ancestry.
I've had a quick look, but can't see it.
Where was he from? Year born?

I don't have access to Ancestry anyway so I wouldn't be able to check it.

Hello Cheryl,
How did you get on in the loft.
I did have another look, with the extra details you gave, but no luck I'm afraid.

No medals so far but I've found some incredible photos and bits and pieces we didn't know we had - also found a card with Williams name, it mentions the Connaught Rangers, it's a sort of discharge card type thing.
