Esholt, Yeadon, Guiseley - MIs - TOWNSEND, RAWNSLEY
« on: Monday 05 October 09 09:23 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am after any MI information or leads for the following people please.

Guiseley Burials 1820-1829
John TOWNSEND
Died: 10 November 1824, Age 50, Esholt

Guisley Burials 1830-1839
Christiana RAWNSLEY
Died: 8 January 1837, Age 58, Esholt

From research the family lived and worked in the Yeadon, Esholt areas and mainly attended St Oswald's Church in Guiseley and on occasion All Saints Church, Otley.

Many thanks.
 :)

Well for the moment there is just the 2 of us!
I had a look at Guiseley parish records, copies of which some were black. (At local library)
I have made contact with holder of original records, to view when convenient with holder. (white gloves time)?
I have yet to view indexed copies of parish records (if one exists)

Thank you for checking at the library and good luck with the original records and the white gloves.  :)

I am also very interested to know if they were listed in the Church Record Transcripts at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/WRY/Guiseley/index.html for

Guiseley Burials 1820-1829
John TOWNSEND - Died: 10 November 1824, Age 50, Esholt

and the

Guisley Burials 1830-1839
Christiana RAWNSLEY - Died: 8 January 1837, Age 58, Esholt

Which cemetery would they would be buried in? and
would there be a headstone or monument inscription with more information?
 :)

The burials would be in the church yard at Esholt village.
(I transcribe for Genuki) and I can't remember if the records for Esholt have been included, I also have distant family relations buried at Esholt.
The original marriage entries for Guiseley were located and photographed, copies of which were sent to you via e -mail.

Thank you for emailing the photographed copies of the marriage entries.
Much appreciated  :)

With regard to MI's (Monument Inscriptions)...

Which Church Yard would that be in Esholt village?

and

Where/How would I find out their location in the church yard?
and
Is there a headstone for them both?
and
If there is, what is the MI (monument inscription)?

Thanks again

As far as I know there is only the village church.
(Will have to have a look round with camera Monday/Tuesday)
I will report back on anything I find.

Hello again

Could you possibly tell me what the name of the church in Esholt is?

It would be really wonderful to hear if you find anything.
Good luck and thank you.
