here goes i hope i have got the hang of this.

i hope someone can help me i am doing a family tree and my gg /grandmother
was catherine doyle she married patrick dempsey a blacksmith from ballygarrett in 1838.
The doyles apparently were well known in wexford and were owners of a foundry.
the make of their machinary had and emblem, and the family were known as the   "Selskar Doyles"

Wexford Historical Society Journal had a major article on Doyle's Foundry.
If no one else gets back to you remind me and I will try to look it up - busy over next few days.

Maybe my memory let me down. I am having trouble finding the article. I did find the attched in a local newspaper.

I presume they were called the Selskar Doyles becaue they were from Selskar Street?

The writer of the article has a peculiar way of referring to people.
They may have originated in the parish but it is more likely a reference to Selskar Ironworks as the foundry was called.

yes i believe they were of the selskar ironworks i would love some information on the Doyle family and ironworks if anyone can help me
