Fordwich marriage 1851
« on: Wednesday 30 September 09 17:11 BST (UK) »
Hi

Does anyone have access to the marriage entries for Forwich please?

Looking for marriage

FREE BMD June quarter 1851
Amos John
McKenzie Sophia Leeds
Bridge 5  77

I am almost certain that they would have been married in Fordwich as Sophia (also known as Sophia Kenzie) and her family are in the 1851 Fordwich census.

Thanks in anticipation ...

To lookup a marriage at the records office you have to know which church it took place in

Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
Carlin (Ireland & Liverpool) Doughty & Wright (Liverpool) Dick & Park (Scotland & Liverpool)

If you can find the marriage http://extranet3.kent.gov.uk/sp/rois/marriagesearch.cfm then look to see if there is a church listed for that reference number http://www.fadedgenes.co.uk/KentMarriageRegisters.htm

Casalguidi - thank you I have been able to find his marriage entry on the extranet but cant seem to find the relevant district on your 2nd reference.

I seem to remember using this system last year to find a birth entry for another ancestor and it did work that time.

Maybe I am doing something wrong this time? or just maybe the church isnt listed this time.

Hi there,

I have Fordwich PRs - but only for 1683 to 1837!  I know this doesn´t help with this enquiry, but if you need another one pre 1837, let me know - there are a few Amos surnames in the PRs.

Good luck
Yvonne
Harryman - Kent,
Rothwell - Lancs,
Pope - Somerset/Kent,
Roser-Sussex/Kent,
Ralph - Kent,
Winstanley - Lancs.,
Small - Kent,
Woods - Suffolk/Kent,
Reader - Kent/London
Bentley - London/Middx
Breese - Norfolk
Wearne - Cornwall/London
Upton - Wrotham
Neale - Gravesend
