The Sunshine Girls - Toronto
« on: Monday 28 September 09 23:15 BST (UK) »
My grandmother had two sisters who emigrated around 1910 from Yorkshire to Toronto.    They became members of the Sunshine Girls group.   I have a photograph of the group which seemed to be of girls in late teens early twenties.   The group could have been a dance group or drama group.  I really do not know.

Does anyone out there know anything about this group please.   I tried googling without any success.

Cheers

Kathy

;D Well .... the Sunshine Girls in Toronto were the page 3 girls of the British tabloids!!  At least, they have been in the last 20 years!  The paper, The Toronto Sun may be able to help you  ... sorry, I don't have a link.

I think your idea of a dance troupe seems accurate if you look at these links.  If you wanted to follow it further you could look at the pay site Pages of the Past of the Toronto Star and see if you can find any reference to the group performing.

Thanks to everyone who posted suggestions.   I contacted Toronto Sun but as the paper has only been published since 1970s they were unable to help.

I am looking at the other tips and will post another reply if I have any progress.

Thanks again
