Sorry Suzard, thanks for the correction. I have a mind block with certain names of places and even when I double check make mistakes :-[

It's easily done - especially if you have a keyboard like mine where some keys stick !!!! and the letters have worn off!!!!

Hi Mum, suzard and Trish

Thank you all for all this info
I have had a look at the IGI messages etc and also checked the Wirksworth PR site and I think we are talking 2 different Sarah Hole's esp with that last chr in 1796

On Henry's rec 1819 it says mother Sarah from Riber
On Daniel's rec 1821 it says mother Sarah from Matlock
On the marriage rec 1826 for Thomas Strange and Sarah Hole it says Sarah is from Matlock so I think
based on that that they are linked and that the George/Ann one is the Crich area

However in that case I do need to find "my" Sarah's chr abt 1793 which does not seem to be on the site I was using

Thanks
SC

Hi everyone.
You have no idea how pleased I am to come across your conversation.  Henry was my g x2 granddad.  His son John was my great granddad and his daughter Eliza was my gran. I believe that before leaving the Tansley area, Henry worked in the cotton mill there.
I have been searching for Henry's parents for months and months; 1, for my own family records and 2, (You'll like this!) because a Henry Hole was involved in the Pentrich uprising of 1817.  The whole saga can be found on the Pentrich Revolution website.  It is a very important piece of English History.  Henry gave evidence against the revolution leaders which led to executions, imprisonment and transportation.
I see the Woodward crest at the side of some messages. One of my great aunts from the Hole family that I knew well was Amy Woodward, my Gran's sister.  Her children were Dorcas, Amy and Ken.She lived at Hill Top and was lovely.  Is it the same connection?
Many thanks for your information

Hi Judy

Well what a coincidence - very interesting
I've just read up on the Pentrich Rebellion which I must admit to knowing nothing about
The Henry Hole mentioned could well be a distant relative but he's not Henry 1819's father

If your gt grandfather John married a Sarah Webster then we are talking the same family though I haven't done much research on John as Harry is my connection

If that is the case and you wish to exchange data since we are talking recent relatives then please PM me

Thanks
SC

Hi SC
I'm sorry, I'm new to RootsChat, so I don't know what PM is.  I have a photograph of Sarah and some other bits and pieces, but I can't seem to attach them for you. I blame my age.
We are certainly talking about the same relatives.  My g. grandparents were John and Sarah and my Dad was named Harry after your Harry!
Let me know how to send bits to you and I'll do so with pleasure
