1861 census hannah is b heanor Derbys - not heaton

and it is langley mill -not Langley Mills

eastwood -not eastwell

langley Mill is on Notts/derbys border - most of it is in derbys -some in Notts - but the postal address is Notts

langley mill is down in the "dip" between heanor and Eastwood

Wonder if this is henry in 1841?

Normanton Woodhouse S Normanton derbys (appro 7 miles from heanor)
Thomas Sims 25 farmer
Daniel Sims 20 ag lab
Henry Hole 20 ag lab
Thomas green 9 ag lab
martha Martin 75
all b in county
HO107 195 17 4 4

Hi suzard

That is indeed a poss for Henry as it's not far away
Pity the Daniel is a Sims not a Hole or it would be very definite!!!

I certainly think Henry's mother Sarah married Thomas Strange as I found them on the Matlock area census in 1841 (on the Wirksworth site) with a bunch of children
However there was no sign of Henry or his brother Daniel so the 1841 for Daniel that Trish found is also a very good possibility

Thanks to you all for your help, very much appreciated

Daniel is transcribed as Daniel Hall on later census - he could possibly be "your" Daniel

It looks like he married Lydia and she died between 1851-1861 and Daniel remarried

on 1851/61/71 census he gives occ as Plate layer Railway and is living in Oughtibridge bradfield Yorks

1851 with wife Lidia both born Tansley Derbys -  2 children
1861 with wife mary b bradfield,Daniel b Matlock Derbys 3 children 2 lodgers
1871 Daniel b Crich Derbys wife mary b bradfield 2  children

full census if you require them

...also
1841 Thomas and Sarah Strange are living in Tansley
(which is in Civil parish of Crich and sub reg district matlock)

and daniel gives p.o.b. as Tansley then Matlock then Crich - so it coud be him???

Hi suzard

Thank you for tracing Daniel - certainly looks like the correct one and since you have found him the full details would be much appreciated
1881 he is listed as age 48 but born Tansley so has to be him, Mary not home, only a son George

I had found the 1841 for Thomas and Sarah as that is on-line

Thanks very much
SC

Hi SC,

There are 2 submitted records on Familysearch that have Sarah marrying Thomas Strange on one and the other has;

Sarah HOLE, born abt 1796, Tansey, Derbys
Parents,
George Hole, born abt 1777, Breage, Derbys
Ann Lee, bt 1780, Derby
Married, 26 November 1805, Crich, Derby

There is indeed a Extracted marriage William/Ann on that date but why is Sarah born 1793? Unless George had a first marriage?

I think you need a posting on the Derbyshire Board asking for a look-up of a christening of Sarah Hole abt 1795+/- a few years Crich/Tansey area.

Cheers,
Trish
