Many thanks for the extra information you've provided- it is all helping to tie things together. 

I had been wondering who the John WYKES, listed as executor of Henry Webb's will, was.  I now know. Thanks Sandy.

Do you think I am right in assuming that the Henry WEBB who married Esther WATSON is the son of John WEBB and Anne DICKS?

According to the cemetery transcriptions I found for St Mary the Virgin w St John in Great Brington, they lay buried in 3 grave sites next to each other.  It seems logical to assume a close relationship, and why I think tmisty's Henry Charles is not their son.

I'm quite excited at how much information is now available through forums such as this.  Now that I am (sort of) retired, I've come back to my family history research with renewed enthusiasm and wonder at how much is available online.  I know it is not always reliable, but trying to do research from Australia, it's all I can do.  Until I can persuade my husband to move back to the UK (he's a Yorkshireman) for  year or two so that I can access primary records.  I've been working on the idea for several years, but he hasn't bitten yet.

Northamptonshire is one of the easiest counties to research from afar.
All parish registers (lots of other things too, including wills) which have been deposited at the Northamptonshire Record Office are available on microfiche and/or microfilm can be ordered and viewed inexpensively at any Mormon Family History Centre worldwide.
Australia has more than 100 of these centres, so there may be one near you.
Just go to their website at www.familysearch.org
On the home page down towards the bottom is 'Find a Family History Centre'  just enter Australia, and up they come.

Also I took all the graves stones in the Churchyard, lots un-readable
but will also look for any you may not be able to find.

Hi everyone

Many thanks for all your help - I thought I'd let you know that I think I've resolved the differences between "my" Henry WEBB and tmisty's Henry Charles WEBB (we have had some off-line correspondence).

I spent a bit of time looking for another Henry who could be the one who married Hannah Stubbs in 1810, but I haven't found any obvious candidates in Great Brington.  However I did find them in the 1851 Census in Titchmarsh, and also found Henry in the 1861 Census at the same place (when he appeared to have remarried).  In both those census returns his birthplace is listed as Denford, Northampton.  As this is where his wife was born, and where he married, this seems plausible.  I looked up FreeReg and found the baptism of a Henry, son of Henry and Ann Webb, in Denford on 14 June 1789.  That fits in with the census info, where birth years tend to move around a bit.

I'm pretty sure the Henry Webb who was born in Great Brington in 1791 belongs to my line, as I believe the family farm passed to him from his father, and then down to his son George who subsequently emigrated to Australia.

I've just had a look at a large scale Atlas and think I have discovered where all the confusion may have arisen.  Denford is very close to Titchmarsh, which in turn is only about 7 kms (as the crow flies) from Brington.  Great Brington, on the other hand, is about 50 kms away.

So I think this strongly suggests that the Henry of Great Brington born in 1791 is mine, and the Henry of Denford (near Brington) born in 1789 is tmisty's.

Hopefully further research will provide more evidence to support this.

There is also a Little Brington and Nobottle who used the same
church at Great Brington for family occasions.

Same as Church Brampton and Chapel Brampton (where
I went to School years ago) where folk also went to Church Brampton
to baptise, marry and be buried.

I guess to Australia they must seem very small places.
