We're on the case Trish ;)

I have more time to research so will do all I can to find some definites now I'm starting to get a bit of order going (she says, optimistically)  ;D

Typical isn't it, that I ordered William's birth certificate instead of his & Rosina's marriage cert like I was going to do!  ::) ;D

Rosina's line I'm sure of, I hope I'm right, I think I'm right, cos Blackwell seems to fit perfectly, and I found lots of other relatives for her going way back, which I've mailed to Diane so she can check out when she has time. It's fantastic because I'd tried for years to find that family line without any success at all - I'm so chuffed to bits to have got so far with all of them, and I feel a few 'parish' trips coming on soon, lol!  ;D

i don't have a membership, just store my tree there.  if you send me a request, i may be able to view the tree.
i was able to find a little more info.  francis' father, john henry, was born in ireland.  his wife, ann, was born in england.  they lived in liverpool as of the 1911 census & had 8 children at that time.  i found her deat record & believe she may have possibly died in childbirth in 1914.  j.h. died in 1924.

I wondered if anyone has Rainsfords in their family?
My great grandmother was Rosina (Rose) b May 10th 1868 in Aston, Birmingham, d 12th May 1946 in Solihull, Warwickshire.
She married William Mitchell (1864 - 5/8/1950) in June 1889 in Birmingham.
She was an umbrella furniture lacquerer and he was a coachman/groom (ref 1891 census) and they lived at that time at 4 Milton Terrace at the back of Alfred Rd, Sparkhill, Birmingham, Warks. There is also a sister-in-law living there called Florence Rainsford.

In 1881 there is a Rainsford family at 99 Emily St, Bordesley, B'ham:
Edward b 1834 (occ Stamper)
Sarah b 1839 (occ 'washing')
Emma b 1861
Edward b 1863 (occ Stamper)
James b 1866
Rose(Rosina?) 1868
John b 1869
George b 1870
Thomas b 1871
Frank b 1874
Sarah b 1875
Emily (no date)
Elizabeth b 1878

The mother, Sarah, could be nee Blackwell but there is also a possible Lapwell but I can find no records for that name.

There may also be an Elizabeth Rainsford b 1858 and a Henry b 1869??

my great-great grandfather is john henry rainsford born 1869 (april 26) in ireland.  his son, francis (frank) rainsfor is my great grand father (b. about 1905).  francis had 4 children: eileen (1927), anthony (tony) 1930, dorothy (doris) 1936, brenda (1937).  i know john henry's wife was ann but i don't have her maiden name nor do i have any info on either of their parents.  i'm pretty stuck on this line of my tree b/c i'm over here in the states.  if you have any info, i'd really appreciate it.
