I have recently 'stumbled' on a rootschat message placed some time ago by Aulus. Charles John is part of my family and I have considerable information on the ancestry and descendatnts.

He married ELIZA SARAH ETTRIDGE 15 Dec 1873 in St John the Baptist, Hoxton, daughter of EDWARD ETTRIDGE and SARAH HIGGINS. She was born 04 Dec 1856 in St Luke, City Road, Middlesex and died Bef. 1901.
Notes for CHARLES JOHN ETTRIDGE:
On the marriage Certificate of Charles John Ettridge to Eliza Sarah Ettridge , Charles is described as a Carver, living at 4 Pimlico Walk. His father Thomas is described as a Painter. Witnesses to the marriage are Thomas Ettridge and Rebecca Farrington.
Eliza is described as a MINOR on the marriage certificate. She was born on the 14th December 1856 and she would have been 17 at the time of her marriage on the 15th December 1873. On her birth certificate her fathers name is Edward Ettridge, a Hearth Rug Maker, and her mother is Sarah Ettridge (formerly Higgins). Her first son, Charles John, was born before her marriage to her first cousin, when she was 15.
