Elizabeth DONALDSON born 1835 Rathven

Hello all, Elizabeth Donaldson is my Gt Grandmother and she was born in Rathven in 1835. She was the daughter of James Donaldson born 1805 Portknockie who was a master tailo and a clerk to the Seamens Society and his wife Isabella Forbes born 1811 Portknockie who was a dressmaker. She married my Gt Grandfather Alexander Mackay in Aberdeen in 1859. I know quite a lot of their history after she left Banffshire but would like to know more about her life in that county.  I would also like to hear from any descendents of the family. and I am desperately seeking relevant photographs. Hi,
I have an Alexander Mackay in my family line, but unsure if it is the same one you mentioned. In my notes, I have that he was born in 1863. I know for certain his parents were Thomas Mackay and Ann (nee Andison). Is there a connection? Thanks!

Hello really nice to hear from you. Sorry but Im not sure about a connection.
I made a slight mistake about Elizabeths date of birth it should be 1837. Alexander is my Gt grandfather and he was born in 1835 in the village of Sarclett in Caithness. His father was Donald Mckay born 1799 Resolis and his mother Helen Bremner b 1797 Mireland in Caithness  Mind you the Mackays certainly got around. Sorry to disappoint maybe a connection we cant see yet. hope this helps. macci6
