Was it Mirek or Ralph who was born 1847?

I can see a Ralph KETTLE born c1847 Burslem, Staffs, living in Congleton with wife Rachel:

1891:
RG12/2844; Folio 75; Page 24
24 & 26 (?)Racks, Congleton

Ralph KETTLE - Head - 44 - Fishmonger - Burslem, Staffs
Rachel KETTLE - Wife - 43 - Langley, Macclesfield
Thomas KETTLE - Son - 16 - Gen Lab - Congleton
Ralph KETTLE - Son - 14 - Gen Lab - Congleton
Herbert KETTLE - Son - 6 - Congleton

I've never heard of Mirek as an English name!  ???

OK, I've found the birth now!

Births Mar 1876
KETTLE   Mirek
Congleton 8a 310

As you say, he's not with Ralph and Rachael in 1881.

Manchester, I was looking at the same free bmd entry whilst in chatroom....when you view original scan....it does not include a Mirek Kettle.

The following children are registered in Congleton during the correct timetable for Ralph and Rachel (from www.cheshirebmd.org.uk):

Ann 1869 Congleton CON/36/20
Isaac 1871 Congleton CON/39/60
Henry 1872 Congleton CON/39/80 - death registered OND 1872 Congleton
Rachel 1873 Congleton CON/42/61
Thomas 1874 Congleton CON/44/33
Mirek 1876 Congleton CON/45/83
Ralph 1877 Congleton CON/48/32
William 1879 Congleton CON/51/1
Herbert 1885 Congleton CON/57/96

If Mirek was the son of Ralph and Rachel then they all could be - and Rachel, Mirek and William are missing in 1881.

With James BAYLEY and Hannah KETTLE are a Rachel, Merric and William who match the ages.

PS.  Congleton Registration district covered Biddulph in  Staffordshire until 1893.

rasta,

You already knew bally had found him on 1881 - bally has now found Mirek on the 1891 at ancestry...mistranscribed as Marrie.......has another younger sibling by then too, Myles, so matches with the 1901 post above (oops, and someone just posted before me re 1891 too).
