Irish names - cant read *COMPLETED-Thanks*
« on: Friday 18 September 09 05:04 BST (UK) »
(wedding certificate Margaret 1855 australia) -trying to decipher parents names)
For Honor:  Cant get surname
For Thomas:  Last name seems to be Nelly but throughout the wedding cert. the surname seems to alter (i will show).   Possible problems: remote document states Lally/Nelly and Margarets sons wed.cert. says clearly McNulty (but she had been dead 10 years when he married).   Thomas and Honora daughter states born in Galway Ireland.
Any suggestions? Thanks for looking,  Regards,

For Honor I would suggest Glynn  :-\
For Thomas it certainly looks like Nally/Nelly to me with Mc scratched out perhaps ..

I'm with Mare.

The first one looks like Glynn and the second, Nally, with a possible Mc, half obliterated, before it.

Mare & Jen,

Thank you both very much. I agree, I think I was secretly hoping for a different answer as it would make it easier to find them.  I am relatively new to searching outside Australia and learning new words and places makes it that much more time consuming and confusing.
I suppose like everything, the harder you work for it, the more you appreciate it,
Thanks for your time.
Regards.
