BROADHURST family - Hurstbourne Tarrant Hants

I am seeking information regarding CHARLOTTE BROADHURST born 1870. Parents JOHN and SARAH JANE nee Knight?.

The 1911 census of Kimpton Andover shows John was born in London about 1840, whilst Charlotte was born in Upton in about 1847.  They apparently married in about 1869 and had nine children.

If anyone can help me glean further  information, I would be extremely gratefull.

John Broadhurst married Sarah Knight 1868 (Sep qtr Andover 2c 329). The marriage certficate would give you both fathers names.

                Charlotte born 1870
                Hannah born 1872
                William  born c1874
                Edward born c 1876
                Rose born 1876 died 1878
                Sarah Jane  born 1878
                Albert born 1881
                James born and died 1884
 In 1881 the whole family is in Andover workhouse

I have traced John back to the 1861 census when he is a Farm Servant in Faccombe, Hants (name recorded as John Broadas) but can't find him before that nor a record of his birth.

Charlotte married John Henry Barnes 1892 (Mar qtr Andover 2c 311)

1901 census shows them living at 95 Sherwood Street, Reading, Berks.
(RG13 piece 1146, folio 86, page25)
John was a Railway Telegraph Lab, born Gloucester 1866
He and Charlotte had 3 daughters:

Charlotte A aged 3
Flossie E aged 2m

Hi Edwin,

The family is in Hurstbourne Tarrant in 1871, Mary Ann 1 year old & Charlotte 6 months, surname appears to be Broadush!!
John’s place of birth is transcribed as London, Nork??  It’s a squiggle & I can’t  make it out.

I’ve found John on the 1851 living in Faccombe

I think John is with Thomas and Sarah in 1841 living in Faccombe but he is recorded as John Collins aged 2 not born in county.

ACCORDING TO THE IGI BAPTISM RECORDS JOHN BROADHURST BN 1840 & MARY ANN BROADHURST BN 1837
WERE BAPTISED AT FACCOMBE AND THER PARENTS WERE JOHN BROADHURST AND HARRIETT BROADHURST NEE COLLINS. I AM HAVING TROUBLE IDENTIFYING JOHN & HARRIETT ON THE 1841/1851 CENSUS, THEY SEEM AS IF THEY HAVE VANISHED OF THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SWAP TREES WITH ANYONE OF THE SAME LINAGE.

I am not sure whether my reply to you was A1.  It appears that your William Broadhurst 1874 is a brother of Charlotte, who is my wife`s Grandmother.  She married John Henry  Barnes in Andover 1892.
