Hi Helen
Wow! That photo is fantastic. I can't wait to show my Nan tomorrow morning!

I will definitely let you know if Dorothea is definitely his daughter and email you a picture of the gravesite when we go.

I'm thrilled you wrote back. I was concerned that you might not check this site anymore as you posted the until question in 2009.

My Nan and I will also be going to the State Record office shortly so if you want me to search anything for you then just let me know :)

Thanks
Taryne

Hi Taryne,

Luckily I get email notifications if there's a post on a thread I started, so that's how I knew about your message! The photo was sent to his niece, Elizabeth Harris, who was my husband's great-grandmother - it says to Lizzie from Uncle Joe on the back. (Elizabeth's mother was his sister Harriet Barnard and she married Samuel Harris). The other photo of 42 Mile Camp is interesting. It must have been from when he first arrived in Australia.

Thanks for the offer of the photo of his grave. If you do ever find out anything else about him, it would be lovely if you could let me know.

Thanks again.

Helen

Hi Helen
I received your email address so I'll forward the information when I get it.

The 42 mile camp picture is interesting as Sarah Stuckey and James Stuckey lived at the 62 mile camp and James had a heart attack while leaving the 5 mile camp riding home home to the 62 mile camp. So seeing what they looked like is fantastic!

Thanks
Taryne
