Admiral PULLEN, Wiltshire
« on: Wednesday 16 September 09 12:20 BST (UK) »
Hi, trying to find an Admiral Pullen in my family tree. according to  family stories he existed but no one seems to know his christian name or who he was related to. I have just received a photo from a relative of a man in a naval uniform but have no idea of name or date or the ship he is on.  It was said that Queen Victoria and Albert dined on his ship which makes it between 1840 -1861 i beleive..if its true of course.
Can anyone give me any ideas how to find out who, where and when my relation Admiral Pullen was.  I have googled Admiral Pullen and found a couple but they don't seem to fit in to the rest of the family history, but then i'm not sure.  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
My Pullens originate from Sutton Benger and Seagry, Wiltshire.

The photo is of a junior officer - one stripe on his cuffs denotes a sub-lieutenant, its also much later dress than the mid 19th century, more likely the 1900 - 1920 period at a guess. Now you've got two questions to solve.......

There are differing variations of Admiral - try searching rear-Admiral instead.

Good luck

Pete
