Hi Caralyn,
A Convict Indent gives details of the following.
Age.
Where they were trialled.
Religion.
What they were convicted of.
Marital status: single -married.
Any children.
Could they read or write.
Parents and siblings, aunts and Uncles if there were any.
Native Place: which is mainly where they originated from.
Your convict was an early one so maybe his indent would not have any or many details on it but worth a try to see if it has anything written on it.
The Tasmanian Archives have been digitising all the convict records and they still have more to do. It seems that the indent you need is yet to be done.

A Tasmanian marriage certificate from 1842 would have nothing but the signitures of the two people bieng married[sometimes they just put anX if they could not read or write.]The Ministers signiture and the signiture of the witnesses and what church they were married in. Thats about it

Oh plus the date of course. They never had parents details or where they came from .
