Hi Carolyn,

WHTG is Whitegate.  Check the glossary for an explanation of all the codes and abbreviations.

You don't need to worry about these WHTGCO1400794.30310 these are not relevant to anyone looking up information on the registers, they are probably an index number like you have for books that those who are compilng the data use to find a particular entry in the database.

I've found a mistake.  Mary Ravenscroft born 8030929, baptised 8030925, Davenham so she was baptised before she was born.  From another source I believe she was born August

The keycode is DAVNC02501173.10235

I'd love to notify the compilers of the database, but there is no contact address, I just hope they read this.

I agree. it's a huge project, and great to use.

I doubt very much whether there would be any funding available to do a similar project in Lancashire though. More's the pity.

I too would like to echo Celia's comments on the Cheshire Parish Record Project, we are so fortunate in this county not only for this database but the ground breaking work done on the Cheshire Bmd site, the Wills online and the Tithe maps.
I hope one of the Rootschatters can pass on our appreciation for the Parish Record Project.
Regards
Kathb
