Help please to decipher the additional information on the Cheshire Parish Register

The record I am looking at Peter Holland born 1801 parish code Davn, it gives his parents names as John and Mary Holland but under additional information state F Parents William & Nancy Holland of Lordship.

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong area of the forum

Mary

Hi Domingo,

It means than William and Nancy Holland were the parents of the (father) John Holland.

Thank you for your reply, I did try to find the explanation from the code help page but got lost.

Could you please explain what the lordship means?

I am not sure that this is the Peter Holland I am looking for, but always happy to learn something new.

Mary

Hi Domingo,

Lordship is part of a place name: for example, Lordship of Nantwich(fictitious), it's just they didn't have enough room in the data field to put the whole place name in.  To find out where it is you would need tp examine the register or a copy of it.

Hi Mary,

The Lordship in question is probably Rudheath.
