Help?????
« on: Wednesday 05 May 04 11:36 BST (UK) »
Thought someone may be able to answer a question for me

I'm in search of a Robert Peare b.1872 m. 1894 d. 20/09/1940

I don't seem to be able to find him in any Census (1881, 1891 or 1901) in the 1901 census I expected him to be living in Kensington with his wife Emma (nee Archer) and daughter Emma Margaret aged 4

Was there any exceptions that someone could be discluded? or is it i'm just not looking hard enough

Thank you for any advice you may be able to provide :)

Have you an occupation for Robert?

Where was he born?  Have you tried Peirce?

There is a Robert Pearce born St Pancras on the 1881 census.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reply

I hadn't tried that spelling I had tried a few variations I will have a look at that one now  :)  we don't know where he was born and only a year of birth

As for occupation we have a tale passed down that he owned a grocers shop trouble is he was a bit of a gambler and lost it all on the turn of a card.

On his daughters marraige certificate he is listed as a fruit and vegetable porter.
