Hello Heather
I'm a little comfused my Joseph died 1883 and you have him died 1888
and all the information i have on this family i have posted so if you have anything else to add i would be more than grateful. yes i did notice there were two children named James and agree with you that one had died.
I have only the names of the brothers and sisters with b. dates but no  other information on any of them.

Hi Happygirl
The site i use mainly for research is Scolandpeople so some of the dates maybe out a year or two but i have doubled check things with differant sites
Walter and Mary Rutherford had two sons John 1782 Andrew 1773 {possibly more children i have not found]
Andrew married Janet Jardine and ther children you know so i will tell you who they married
John 1808 dod 1875 married Isabella Graham dob 1811
Mary had children but never married dod 1892 in Brydekirk
Helen never married but had children dod 1887 Brydekirk
Walter 1816 nothing at all
James nothing as yet realy must have a look about him
Joseph you know
Andrew 1823 dod 1885 died in Annan was married to a Josephine Gilbertson
Just to confuse us there was another son William born 1800
to Andrew Rutherford and Janet Farries, but on his death cert his parents are down as Andrew Rutherford and Janet Jardine so i presume his mother janet died maybe in child birth or when he was very young and Janet Jardine was the only mother he knew
I hope this makes sense if not please email me i have other names and dates i can give you  Heather
