Hi

can anyone advise a simple easy to operate family tree computer program or application.

I have looked at a few commercial prog's but I don't like them.

Ancestry Family Tree Maker seems to be the most popular.  It is the one I have stayed with over last few years.
Wiffen, Utton, Clark, Spires,  Frisby, Raybould, Charlton, Green, (England)
Flood,  Daly, Doran, Mc Kercher, Gardiner, (Ireland/England)
Reid, Burns  (Ireland)
McGourty, Daly (Ireland/America)

Legacy is very easy and you can download the basic program for free.  Go to

If you use Ancestry, make sure you keep your tree private, or as other people have learned, you will find "name collectors" just copy your tree lock, stock and barrel.
