Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the info - it is really useful and will also be read by another member of our family who is back to the 1600s on the Catt line.

Hi, my grandmother was Charlotte Catt and she married Richard Chapman about OCT/DEC 1882, they had one daughter Millicent Elizabeth, they lived in Hastings, Sussex, England. I am currently researching the family tree and you are right ... there are a lot of Catts living in Hastings.  I am having real problems linking Charlotte's Father and Mother as currently there are two Charlotte Catts I am looking into, both Father's were Scholars. Kind Regards  Karen Lovell, UK

Hello Karen

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

After studying the census,i found a marriage for a Richard Chapman  & Charlotte Catt marrying in 1892

O/N/D 1892
Hastings
2b 79

The marriage cert will give Dads name

Charlotte states on the 1901 she was from Westfield,East Sussex.

Richards Mum & Dad seem to be Alfred & Jane

Hope this helps
