Hi Jane,
We are delighted with this information. We have hit a brick wall on the Grenville/Hiscock connection, so the possibility of another name is well worth looking at.
Many thanks
Sarah

Sarah,
Many thanks for the info on Herbert Leicester Trangmar, I have the birth reference for him in 1907 but not his death as yet.

Another part of the research puzzle located, yes I am researching Trangmars my Mum's maiden name.

Hi Trangy,
We do not know exactly when he died, but a relative thinks that he was about 21 -so in about 1928. If you find anything about his death, can you let me know please (and vice versa!).
His mother, Louise Mary was born around 1874, to John Hiscock, born 20 July 1839 and Sarah Ann Hiscock, nee Hayden, born 2 March 1841. They were married on 23 April 1861, at the Register Office, Isle of Wight. We have those three certificates. John was born in Lambeth and Sarah was born in Ryde, IOW. Louise was the fifth of nine children. Leicester was my g.g.grandmother's nephew. Louise and Ada (her sister and my g.g.grandmother) attended a boarding school in Hurstpierpoint. If you would like any further info about this branch of the family, please let me know.
We are still desperately trying to find a connection between the Hiscock and Grenville/Greenfield families - so if you stumble on this, please let me know!!
Bye
Sarah

Hi Tangy,
re your PM. The information was from the Sussex Marriage Index, so would only give marriage's.  Siblings might be found by checking out the 1841 census, unfortunately I haven't got a copy or by checking BVRI & then parish records of the area.
