Hi

In answer to the original question Hackney parish baptism registers for circa 1790 are not indexed by the IGI and not part of the new release of indexed parish registers from Ancestry which begin in 1813. However Ancestry has put the parish registers images pre 1813 onto the subscription only website and it would be a matter of searching through them if you subscribe

http://landing.ancestry.co.uk/lma/default.aspx

Not to bad if the baptism was in Hackney but very difficult if it wasn't and the 1851 census entry is incorrect (parishes in Westminster are not covered by Ancestry)

If you think it is likely that Edward might have been the Marylebone baptism (Marylebone parish is covered by the IGI while other parishes are not) then this might be the Prerogative Court of Canterbury of Edward senior.

Will of Edward McDouall, Linen Draper of Burlington Arcade , Middlesex
Date 06 February 1833
Catalogue reference PROB 11/1812

However so far all the evidence of your Edward points to the 'East End' of London not the 'West End' (relative terms at this point since all of this was Middlesex with only the square mile of the City actually London) with his marriage in Shoreditch in 1810.

Hi Valda,

Thank you for the information. I agree, that it is the east end of London is where the family settled.

I'm afraid that I do not subscribe to ancestry. Can anyone help me further please. ::)

Hi Cynfelin.
That is interesting!
Perhaps you can tell me in what way we are connected as i have little knowledge of anything to do with my family before I was born; in fact very little to do with them afterwards lol.
All I can tell you is I have a sister June, who lives in London but we are not in contact (have not seen her since 1939) I had an elder sister Esther who died back about 10 yrs or so, we corresponded in later life but i have not seen her since about 1940. Esther has a family  in Yorkshire.
I have children, grand children , great grand children all live in NSW & Qld.
I live in WA Australia.
My sister June done a lot of research  as to our family going back to around the 15th century, made very good reading, if you would like a copy i can email it to you.
Thats about all I can say.
Would like to hear from your side
regards Don McDouall

Hi Don,

I've done a lot of research into the McDouall family tree. I would appreciate having a copy of your sister's work.
I shall contact you on the personal site with more information about the McDouall family.
