Using FindMyPast they have Naurice Williams, which I thought was another way of speeling Norris. But with the finds in the other census's it makes sense with Maurice Williams.

1881 is transcribed Naurice. But image is Maurice if I remeber rightly.

Using FindMyPast 1901 has a Maurice Williams about same age and in Liverpool but At the moment I can't buy credits to see if it is the same man and family.

Could anyone check Ancestry.co.uk to see if they have the census info I'm after.

That looks useful - if the marriage cjc18967 is right he was married by 1871.

I think we need a birth cert of a child to confirm Ellen's maiden name - that will in turn confirm if that 1869 marriage to Ellen Cullen is correct. If so, then that marriage cert will give name of Maurice's father, and so confirm whether or not the Thomas and Dorothy one is him.

Without certs it is all rather speculative.

Hi all  :)

In 1871 at Bedminster, there's a 21 year old Ellen Williams born Liverpool, Seaman's wife with a 7 months old daughter Elizabeth born Clifton.

Hi Colin,

I think we are relations(distant ;-) ...currently researching the very same Maurice and Ellen (Cullen) Williams...of Bristol and Liverpool...which line of the siblings of these two do you come from?

My line is via their daughter Florence b.1885 she married Reginald Abbott...

email me and let me know if we are the same ancestry link!

thank you

Hi

I'm also descended from Florence and Reginald.

Please let me and let me know where you fit in and hopefully we'll be able to exchange details.

Thanks
