Hi Sandra

Have you checked the grave sales section on the Mount Zion website? Quite a lot of the earlier burials are only to be found there.

Yep have done so. But for some reason could only get into 1833 section and not the others.
Do you have this problem as well.?

Hi Anne,

Just got in to the grave sales and its a great help. Have found two possible, but have got some clues to other members of the household I am looking for, so lots to chew on.
Thanks, again,
Sandra

Dear Sandra,
just a note after reading what Bumblebee said about King cross Meths, i have looked at the Burial book, it is one huge volume with over 50,000 entries, it is in Halifax Library in the Archive section.
I have found a few of my relatives in there and some marriages.
The state of the graveyard it's self is disgraceful, it is badly overgrown, although someone seems to have been felling trees etc in the last few months.
If you cannot find  any help with the gravebooks i will have a look myself for you but it may take me a week or so to get to the Library in Archive times, i believe it closes at 5:30 pm for original documents.
Regards,
  Andy

Thanks Andy for that information.  I've noted it in my files.  Wonder what will happen to it when they close the library?  ::)

Hi Bumblebee,
Yes all the valuable information will be spread to the four winds if they close Halifax Library, and with Wakefield archive being slated for the condition of the collections it makes you wonder where it will go.
Thats what you get with a council run by a child hating library hating lancastrian!!!

Hi
Think Huddersfield & Wakefield & Halifax for library & archive stuff but with Kirklees house in Calderdale or maybe just Kirklees Archives WYAS full stop-Inside info!  ;D

Kirklees Archives and Library are as one in Huddersfield central library and there collection is awrsome, duplicate most of Halifax/Todmorden/Saddlworth /Mossley on film/fich  and all west yorkshire with Wakefield & (Kirklees already)Dewsbury Archives.
In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
