Hi Dave,

Looks like I have replied ok. Don't know if you know or not but there are two Popples, one in Ovenden and one in
Heptonstall.
Sandra

Think  Popples is by  Henry -father of Christopher b 1639 (Xpoher) Heptonstall abode Woodhouse Warley John father Christopher 1659 Elland abode Woodhouse Warley !his son Joshua  b 1685 was bapized in Halifax St John abode Warley! it could be either but suspect Illingworth is nearer at Treapcroft, Barrack and Hal -farms in  Popples Illingworth also Hey (Hay) family are from Illingworth

Heptonstall and Elland seem to be the churchs used by the Cock(C)roft families depending on time of year and weather for BMD's but also Halifax st John before St Mary Illingworth Church started
In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
