Hi Joe,
I thought I'd reply here as well just in case. I have sent you a personal message with my details there so you can get in contact with me. This is great, finally some connection to the missing part of the family that stayed behind. So looking forward to finding out about the family & sharing what we have collected on this side of the world.

Hi everyone,

So long story short I recently found out that the man I have been calling dad for 43 years is not my dad. Anyway looking at my dna across multiple sites (ancestry, my heritage, family trees a, gedmatch etc I have found that David Jamieson is my great uncle through my paternal line. Meaning he is the uncle to my genetic father. However from my research so far it seems as David was an only child. Which we now know not to be the case. Nevertheless I am hoping someone here might be able to shed some light.
Obviously I feel like I should know who my dad is and vice versa, but it’s more the not knowing of any potential genetic etc health implications for myself and my 2 sons which concerns me.
So any help I will be hugely grateful. I know I am related to a few who have posted here already via my heritage etc so I am hoping you might have some info.

Thanks for your time everyone :)

Which David Jamieson is the one you are looking for now?

There's one here but could be others.
David Alexander Jamieson born 18 June 1891 & registered 9 July 1891- parents Thomas Jamieson & Mary Campbell-

1911 he's with Campbell relatives-

Parents married 18 June 1891!

A Thomas Jamieson, tailor, died on tuberculosis a few years later in 1898 and was a widower-

Did see death for Mary Jamieson/Campbell but didn't look too hard as this might not be the correct family.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
