I am looking for information on the Curry family.  Walter Moutray Curry married Lydia Kirkpatrick.  They had a son John Curry born circa 1804, married Margareta Bowes(Bowse)12.1. 1824 in Fermanagh.  the children were all born in Ireland and the family immigrated to Australia on the "Oriental" arriving in Sydney 17.4.1850   sorry meant to add.  The information I have, gives as the place  "Lisnaway" Tyrone as the birthplace of a child Walter 1829b.  I cant seem to find it anywhere

I am a descendant of John Curry.  His daughter Rebecca, married George Mongomery Allen, also from County Tyrone, and a cousin of the Currys.  Rebecca was my Great-Grandmother.

Just to put in another connection!

Walter and Lydia had a daughter Jane who married John Gilkison (son of Thomas Gilkison & Eliza Martin, Ballynanny) in Carntall (Clogher Presbyterian) church on 8 Nov 1841.

Sorry - don't have any more info at the mment. I just copied marriages at Carntall (Clogher Pres) in Proni - this is the church I was christened in and have a lot of family connections.
I have Curry's in my tree - my great grand aunt Rebecca Graham married a Robert Curry from Clogher about 1887 but I don't think it is the same connection.

I also have a Lydia Ann Curry from Ballyawley who married a John Johnston 15 Dec 1845 but I don't know who her parents are?

I have made a note of your info and if I come up with any more info, I will let you know.....

I have a copy of Lydia Anne Curry and John Johnson's family tree (descendants until the 1970's).  Lydia was an elder daughter of Margaret and John Curry who stayed behind when the Currys emigrated to Australia in the year 1850.  They left behind two daughters.  The other married a Jordon, but died.  My parents met some of the descendants of Lydia and John when they travelled to Ireland in the 1970's.  The "tree" is handwritten, and rather large.  I intend to rewite it.  Margaret and John Curry were my great-great-grandparents.
