The Silk Mill Museum in Derby has railway archives, certainly for the Midland Railways.  Might be worth a try.

my name is john i am trying to trace a family member named Samuel lee he moved to Derby in 1957 from Jamaica but is origin was south east Asian, i know that this relative did work at the Rigley's wagon works Hucknall road Bulwell Nottingham in the 1960's, he may also have worked at Derby carriage wagon works, if anyone as any information it would be greatly received. kind regards
