Thomas William Wealthall
« on: Thursday 03 September 09 15:03 BST (UK) »
i wondered if some kind person could look up the following  for me.
i am looking for a 1861 census entry for Thomas William wealthall born 1858 in Nottingham with parents Thomas Wealthall 1834 Sneinton Nottingham and Sarah 1838 Wirksworth Derbyshire.

Via Genes Reunited i can find them on the 1871 census  but not on the 1861. I have try-ed all different spellings but nothing . On Ancestry.com  they have a listing, but I'm not a member on that site so i can't see it.

I would also like to know if there is a listing for the father Thomas wealthall 1834 Sneinton Nottingham on the 1851  that may give me a clue to his Parents also.

It just seems strange that one site has the listing while the other doesn't, and my pennies went on the site that doesn't.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Not having any luck finding Thomas in 1851 and 1841 yet ...

This may be them, hard to read and transcribed wrong.
I read William Wealthall  55  Warp Lace Maker  Nottingham Nottinghamshire
          Maria          do       54                                       do                do
John             do      28  Warp Lace Maker          do                do
Harriet         do       32  Lace Warehouse          do                 do
On the next page
Thomas  Withall, Age transcribed as 11 but to me looks like 14  Frame Work Shifter?  Nottingham  Nottinghamshire.
         Joseph    Withall    11      Scholar        Sneinton
          William        do       8                                  do
Address looks like Element Place Sneinton

Hope this helps eddie

Had another look at the census and Thomas could be 17, there is a mark at the top of the number which would make it a 7 and a faint line about 2/3 of the way down which gave the first thought of 14

Completely agree that Thomas' age is 17 - I think he's a frame work knitter.

I like the fact that there's a Benjamin in the family!  8)

I went back to check the other family in 1841 (parents William and Maria), and Thomas' age was given as 4. Later censuses show a Thomas born Sne(i)nton ca. 1837 who is not ours.
