Nairn Census lookup 1881-1901
« on: Thursday 03 September 09 14:04 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for census returns for William Nairn - born 1868 Blisworth Northamptonshire.  Married Sophia sometime around 1884 (can't find them).  Lived in the Pancras area - going by the birth locations of the children in the 1911 census.
Some of their children were :
Alexander born 1886
Edward born 1891
Arthur born 1898
Ernest born 1900

Any help appreciated.

Julie

William's mother Elizabeth seems to be in St Pancras in 1891 (RG12/118 221 65) but William himself is completely eluding me!  :(

thanks Tati.  Every little bit helps.

Elusion is one of their specialities :)  The surname is often mistranscribed which doesn't help.

I can't find him (William) in 1881, or his mother Elizabeth (born Blisworth Northants 1826), or his brother who claims to be John (Navin) in 1901, Henry (Marin) in 1891 (may have been Peter when baptised - Edgbaston or Birmingham) - his wife Mary was from Towcester - that is how I found those two.

The only family member I can find in 1881 is their sister Eliza in Crewe (may be a railway connection).

I am hoping by trying to find all the family I might find where their mother Elizabeth was hiding :)

Julie

I can help with some of this information. I am related to the Nairn family you describe above... if you can somehow contact me, I will happily share. It may take a while on here!
