Rostherne: Baptisms look up please
« on: Wednesday 02 September 09 22:30 BST (UK) »
I'd be very grateful if anyone has a copy of Rostherne PR baptisms or would be able to tell me where I might be able to get a transcript or similar.

In particular I am looking for:

Samuel Leigh/Lee/Legh born c1812
Joseph Williamson born c1759
Nancy Daniel born c1761

If anyone would be able to check these or point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.
Many thanks

Hi Tomatillo,
How are you connected to this family? I have Nancy's dob as 20 Jul 1804, parents were Joseph Williamson (1761-1841) and Nancy Daniel (1761-) who were my gggg-grandparents through Nancy's brother, George.

Hi Steve, it is some time since I have looked at this part of the family but Nancy Williamson (1804 - sister of your George) is my GGGGG grandmother. I did get some of the info from microfilms of the baptisms in the end.

Looking at my notes for Nancy Daniel (1761) the only likely baptism record that I can find was at Rostherne and says:

7th June 1761 - Nancy daughter of Thomas Daniel of Mere to Mary his wife

That looks likely to me though I don't have any absolute confirmation it is the right person. I have noted that the writing was very faint so I hope that is a correct transcription. I also have a bit more detail of gravestone, banns etc for Nancy and Joseph if it is any help to you.
