wonder also where john senior is in 1911 could he have been porting coal to and from the fairground to begin with ? He didnt do much travelling considering the births of his children

            Looks like we are all working on different areas of the same family.
I have been working on the Whiting family tree from me Howard, back to were by the sound of things you guys are looking.
I have a few items that you might be interested in.

Hi, my 3x great uncles Meadows Page (1842) and his brother George Page (1844) joined a fair on a 2 year contract in 1869 owned by Samuel Whiting. The fair travelled mainly around the north of England and Ireland. Meadows Page married Catherine Ewing in 1870 Her father Frederick is noted on the marriage cert as a traveller. I have a picture of Samuel Whiting with the 2 brothers.
I was wondering if anyone has any info on Samuel Whiting or his fair.

My 3x great uncles were Meadows and George Page the "Giants" who joined Samuel Whitings travelling fair. I know they were in Manchester in 1871. I would be interested if anyone was able to share more info on Samuel Whiting. Here is a picture
