Hi Nigel, he`s not in the 51 partial name index, have you an address we can look up? Incidentally I think you`ll find the address is St Johns wood.

Hi Kenny B,

The birthplace is definitely St John's Horselywood, which is Bermondsey/Rotherhithe/Southwark area.

He was born there and looks to have not moved far from the area until he died in 1892.

I don't know if there is even an index for the 1851 south of the river? I vaguely remember that there was many years ago, but can't remember where I saw it!

Many thanks for your rapid response - it is appreciated.

Hi Nigel, try sending Rick a PM. She has the full index for Southwark I believe.

Bryant,

Thank you.

I don't think there is a direct relationship, but there may be a tie-up further back. They didn't move far from Bermondsey/Southwark until around 1900, so Deptford (and even St Pancras) seem unlikely.

Best wishes,

Nigel

Hello Nigel

I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and noticed this older request.  Wondering if you are still looking for anything on this topic or you have resolved it in the meantime?  If you're still looking, this might be a tough one to find so do you have any further info to add that might assist finding them?

If we don't hear from you in a while, I'll assume the latter and move it to the 'completed' section.
