Elinor Thursfield married Ivor Hopwood on the 16th October 1951.
She was a widow who was living at 'The Bungalow, Edenfield' at the time of the marriage and her profession was listed as manageress of Booksellers and Librarians( her father's surname was Holden.) She was a widow of 42 years of age when she married Ivor Hopwood and he was aged 32 at the time of marriage and the divorced husband of Iris Hopwood, formerly Davies and his occupation was listed as a telecommunications engineer living at 10 Clarendon Road, Whalley Range, Manchester.
The marriage could not have lasted long as he remarried in Preston in 1954.
I am hoping that someone is still alive that knows/knew of Elinor or if any friends/neighbours/relations are alive that can tell me anything about Elinor ie Is she still alive? Did she have siblings who may be still alive or does anyone know where exactly in Edenfield is 'The Bungalow'? Any information about any of the above would be welcome.
Ivor was my father and I am only now getting to find out about his life after my mother divorced him. Through Rootschat I have found out he died in New Zealand in 1966 and his status was given as separated at the time of his death. I am grateful for any information regarding him or the women he subsequently married. Perhaps there are some former work colleagues still alive that have information about her/him.
