Can any one help with Moneymore Church records
« on: Sunday 30 August 09 06:08 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for the birth records of three siblings. They are the children of John and Jane (nee Plamer) Campbell. John and Jane were married at the 1st Moneymore presbyterian Church on 28/12/1829. I would expect to find them at this church or Leucumpher, the parish John came from.

They are Margaret (b ~1831); Eliza Jane (b ~ 1833) and John (b ~ 1835).

My primary aim is to find where the family lived. I know they were at Derrynoyd by 1839 when their 4th child was born.

Any help much appreciated.

Good news and bad news...
Lecumpher Presbyterian Church baptisms start 1825**
Moneymore 1st Presbyterian Church baptisms start 1827
Moneymore 2nd Presbyterian Church baptisms start 1845

PRONI do have Moneymore churches copied-

Most of the Presbyterian church records that I've seen for 1820s list minimal detail- date of baptism, child's name, name of father and sometimes townland but not mother's name.

** checked PRONI site and records seem to be in local custody only (minister or Clerk of Session would have access)**

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
