It's great - got my husband's gt grandparents and some other relatives in Wexford. I saved one but the others won't let me

They do state some material is missing,but improvements will be on going.

Don't know if anyone else is still having problems saving the census record using the save 'icon' in Adobe Reader - I am.

Happily I have stumbled upon a bodge to enable you to save a copy of the census scan.

With the required Census Scan displayed in Adobe Reader go to

'File' then

'Send'

'Page by email.......'

If I allow Internet Explorer to access 'Outlook' (my email client) the file appears as an attachment in the email so by opening the attachment you can then save it as you wish, including the NAI file ref.

I've just been really disappointed that I couldn't find my Ballingers in Galway. Not a common name - only two brothers come up in Normangrove (I know about them).  Mine is Michael Ballinger in Castleblakeney. None of the name variants come up and then when I searched under the place name the family is not there. I KNOW they were there (at least him and maybe son John).
I have a niggling doubt that the first page of Castleblakeney is missing. There's a B (policeman) and then Blade.
Looking at my other family, beginning with G, in Killure I found them OK but I see that placename starts its pages at Burns. Doesn't that seem a bit funny to you?
I would like to ask them about this. I can't for the life of me find the link to where you report transcription errors. I know it's not that but I suppose it could be used for other communication too?
Just adding that in the 1901 transcription they were in Course (just over the fence from Castleblakeney) but the names there begin with a C.
Do you think there is any other explanation for this absence?

I just found a John Ballinger age 45 and his brother Martin 43, both born co Galway.
4 Norman Grove Killinny Galway

No sign of a Michael.

the 'Report errors in transcription' link is displayed on household returns summary page. There are some notes at this link :

the homepage also mentions that some details are incomplete - e.g. Irish Language returns and public corrections, and that fixes are ongoing.

It may be worth looking at the House and Building Returns (Form B1) for the possible townlands - as these summarize all the houses in the townland or street. And should include an household even if the  Form A (household return) is missing.
