On PRONI - something else...! Can't say any more, as it is embargoed and I have written about it, but trust me, it is well worthwhile on a couple of fronts...!  :)

On 1911 censuses - Antrim and Down appear to be up now as well. I've managed to download a few entries from Belfast, but the site is horrendously difficult to work with just now, as it keeps defaulting to Dublin entries on searches. However, I have just made the major discovery that my 2 x great granny Florence Graham was born in Gibraltar of all places!

Looks like the census site is back to just dealing with Dublin 1911 again. I managed to download a few Belfast entries last night, and briefly again this morning, but no access at all this afternoon to Antrim and Down.

I know the feeling - I hit my bed at 2.30am, and 'foundered' is definitely the word...!

Well this last time I looked it seemed Dublin was the only option and so I just entered my grand dads details and lo and behold up came the Co Down stuff mixed in the Dublin info!  and there he was, a young teacher in Downpatrick in his first job. :)  I was only able to get the transcribed details not the handwritten full version.  Pity I have no more interest in 1911 outside of Dublin... already accessed it the old fashioned way via microfiche and address.

Roll on 1901!!  but this is painfully slow.
