" . . . More precise timescales will be posted when available."

Does anyone know any more on this?   The website still says December for the next batch, but it hasn't been updated with anything more precise (yet).

December is probably correct... it's just the year that is in doubt!! ;D ;D

Chris Paton's article in the January 2009 edition of Ancestors magazine mentions that the Kerry, Antrim and Down Census records have been pushed back to December which means that chances of the entire records for 1901 and 1911 being online by mid 2009 may be unrealistic. He didn't state which December but it's possibly this one.

Earlier this afternoon I logged on to the NAI Census site and saw that the usually 'greyed-out' dialgue box for the 'County' had changed from showing Dublin to 'All Counties' (I think). When I hit the down arrow the 4 counties of Dublin, Antrim Down & Kerry were showing!

Putting a search in for possible relatives in Down or Antrim didn't work so ................. watch this space! Nearly there?

It looks as December this year is on for the 3 new counties to appear, but when on earth (or the www!) are the other 1911 counties and perhaps even more importantly the whole of the 1901 census to appear.

I have been told that an old Irish proverb says that 'patience is a virtue'  ;D
Drogheda, Co Louth - Magee/McGee
Dublin City - Brady, Magee/McGee, McNally, Sheridan, Taylor
Mitchelstown, Co Cork - Hyland, Martin, Russell
Ballyporeen, Co Tipperary - Russell

Yes, I am getting the same thing - county options appearing, but not allowing searches within the counties listed, apart from Dublin. Slowly, painfully slowly, getting there....!  :D

(And thanks for the article plug Christopher!)

Brilliant, will keep an eye on it.

Also keep an eye on the PRONI website in the next few weeks - some MAJOR additions are imminent...!  :)
