I was in the National Archives recently and the Genealogist on duty there said they had changed their mind and Belfast will be next now, not Kerry.  And the really bad news is...she said it might be another year before even Belfast is online  :(  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

The Archives & Library Canada, doing the digitization of the 1901 & 1911 Ireland census' (censi?), state on their web site that the entire project will be finished & online, for free, by mid-2009.

That is good news.
For those who can't wait, the IFHF will soon have the index of the 1901 census on line (for a fee). Tipperary North is now on line...

sounds like good news though J.A.M, I like the word "FREE" it doesn't always go with Irish family history  - shall keep my eyes open, they will be inundated  ;D
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

The National Archive has updated its website.

They now say that the 1911 census for Kerry, Antrim & Down will be available in October 2008.

As per JAM's post below, they also say that the whole 1911 project will be completed by mid 2009.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but Antrim,Down, Kerry will probably not be online till beginning of November ,apparently they have to be given a starting date by their Lord and Masters.You know who I mean those that like to hear themselves talk(busy with budget etc.)

Thanks for the update. The message under future plans just kept changing back and forth but this is a new one. They are still giving mid-2009 as the time when all will be added but I can't see it happening.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
