:) :) :) :)If you check out the www.leitrim-roscommon.com website, you will find the 1901 census for Counties, Leitrim,Roscommon,Mayo,Sligo,Wexford,Westmeath & Galway. as far as the 1911 is concerned you will have to wait I'm afraid.

Thanks Jonesy

One day I will be able to find my mysterious Irish ancestors. I will just have to be patient as it appears that one branch at least came from Dublin.

On the newsletter I just recieved from Lost Cousins it says:-

IRISH CENSUS - EXCLUSIVE NEWS
A year ago we reported on a ground-breaking collaboration between the
National Archives of Ireland and Library and Archives Canada to put the
1901 and 1911 Censuses of Ireland online - and make them available free
of charge!

At that time it was anticipated that the first data would be online
before the
end of 2006 - but nothing has appeared, and there have been no further
announcements, and so we decided to find out what's happening.

The good news is that the project is still going ahead, and the Dublin
census data from 1911 will be made available online later this year,
probably between July and October.

Good news hay!!

Has anyone heard anymore about the 1901 and 1911 censuses going on-line or was it just a dream I had that one day my Irish ancestors would be identifiable at the click of a mouse?  :D

Looking around Rootschat it looks like it could be, may be, should be etc sometime in the future but when is anyone's guess.  ???  When it does go on-line I reckon that there will be so many people who have been waiting to access their ancestors records that the site will crash into the Irish Sea never to be seen again. LOL.  Seriously, I don't think anyone knows for sure.

Thanks for that Taid

One of these days I will find a question that no one can answer. I know!! If the British census says  a relative was born in Ireland how would you know which area to start looking?  :P
