TAPLIN family Basildon
« on: Friday 28 August 09 05:06 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have any information on the TAPLIN family of Basildon, Berkshire. Emily Taplin b1852 was my gt gt grandmother and married John COOK. They had 6 children.
I would like to know who her parents and siblings were.
Please advise the best (most economical) way of buying credits, who should I use, ie CensusOnline or Ancestry.co.uk. I live in NZ so need to convert £ to $NZ.
Davis, Cook, Taplin (Berkshire)
Mauger (Guernsey)
Audoire (Alderney)
Charleston (Devon, Cornwall)

There is another Birth Reg showing at Jun 1852 Bradfield 2c 210, the image for this one is incorrect and I suspect has been incorrectly transcribed.

Dont purchase cert through Ancestry as it is much more expensive.

Obviously what I have and will post has to be confirmed by marriage cert. info.

SORRY IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THIS :-[ but i went of on a tangent with the Cooks.

1871 census John Cook aged 16, ag lab, born East Ilsley, is boarding with 2 other labs  in Hampstead Norris, Berks.
RG10/1270/27/32

Interestingly next door is;
John Cook, 68, mar, ag lab, born Hampstead Norris, Berks
Ann Cook, 71, wife, born Minchali?, Berks
Possible grandparents?
