just a thought, but wasnt the address the same as the one used by tony hancock ;D

Tony Hancock lived in Railway Cuttings, Cheam (I can't remember the number)

Acacia Gardens stirs the muddy soup that is my brain and comes up with the thought: Victorian or Edwardian children's story.  Did the Railway Children or Mary Poppins live there?

I came across a family in the 1881 census which I hope someone will follow up for me.  RG11 0020 126 48.  Head of household is Robert Goodman born c.1829 in Maidstone.  I just had time to do a quick check of the 1871 and 1891 but couldn't find him (I was doing a bit of volunteering in the library and was supposed to be indexing the electoral register  ;D.  Someone had printed out this 1881 entry and pinned it on a board).  I can't believe the occupations given  :-[  Please let me know if you can find anything on them.
