I do have Taylors linked but not directly. The McCaughern's are on my dads paternal side and the Taylor's are in the same time frame but on his maternal side i.e George Taylor married Peggy (Margaret) McLeister. Hopefully this clears up any confusion.

robert mccaw was my great grandfather and my records indicate that he was born in rasharkin county antrim ireland in 1861.

He married catherine mccaughran on the 14 august 1885 in rasharkin and they had 10 children, Hugh (b 1887), William(b 1888) thomas (b 1890 - d 1916), james (b1892 - d1968), letitia (b1894), Robert (b 1896), daniel (b 1898-  d 1966), alexander (b 1900 - d 1918), joseph bonar (b 1901- d 1976), harold (b 1903).

roberts parents were hugh mccaw (B abt 1835 in rasharkin) and letitia adams (b abt 1839 in county antrim). they married in 1859 and had 7 children.robert (1861-1939), alexander (1864-1884), james (1865), mary serah (1868), jane 91869 - 1946), hugh (1872).

If you are able to ammend any of this or have further information you would like to share please do.

Hi not sure if this is any help.

In my ancestors I have a Matilda (also seen as Malinda) McCaughern (b about 1850. d 1910) married Robert Moore McMaster (b1849) Married 1st may 1874. Trinity presbyterian Church, Ballymoney, Antrim.

My relation to the McMasters is via Rainey marriage in 1848. The Raineys married the McCaldridges (who later became Alexanders) from Finvoy and surrounding areas, Ballymoney

I am afraid that is the only info at this time I have on mcCaughern.
