Richard Smith barber in Whitehaven.
« on: Wednesday 26 August 09 11:10 BST (UK) »
Does any one out there possess any info on a  Richard Smith b.1888 in Whitehaven. Son of Isaac and Isabella Smith of Pica,Cumbria.,?    Richard lived at 54,Roper Street, Whitehaven  in 1911 ,along with  Isaac  and Isabella  Smith who are  my ggrandparents.  Richard was a hairdresser by trade and also worked in a funeral parlour ,which I think was in Whitehaven.  Richard moved to Distington and continued his hairdressing business. I am trying to establish if he had a  barbers shop in Whitehaven and if my grandfather James Comrie worked with him at any stage.

Given your alias (picamarra) can I take it you're local to Whitehaven?

If not, I would be happy to provide photos of Roper St.
