Ballymunden in Kilmood parish
« on: Wednesday 26 August 09 07:48 BST (UK) »
Ballybunden in the parish of Kilmood was part of the Florida estate which belonged to the Gordon family.
I am tracing families of Stevenson and Moorhead in the townland of Ballybunden so I am trying to
locate information on the estate - rentals, leases, wills etc.

Perhaps someone is interested in this area or has local knowledge and can point me in the right direction??

Thanks.

Hello

My family are from that area and I live nearby. I pass the old manor house almost every day.

I think all the main records are over at Balmoral.

try this link and type 'Florida' into the search box. See the first PDF.

If you need anything else let me know.

I am trying to find out about my Grandfather's family from Ballybunden- his name is Thomas McConnell Stevenson b 1864 or 1865 Belfast & his father's name is William (middle name I believe is McConnell) Stevenson-christened 1832 Killinchy Presbyterian. His mother's name is Mary Moag. William was a farmer. I was wondering if it is the same Stevenson family.
