Kweenie?
 ;D

Haha...

Actually it's Kathleen- I found her marriage to a Cecil Williams and then her death in 1997 with the name Jenny Kathleen P Williams.

Looks like Queenie was probably a nickname.

I had a great aunt Dolly- her real name was Mary Elizabeth ::)
They only called her Dolly cos she was a tiny lady,doll-like.

Hi
many, many thanks for all your help.  I now have a clearer picture of this side of the family tree and am awaiting some certificates to confirm findings.  Just ot say that Henry Shrubsole (aka Harry) was married to Emily Smith in Wandsworth in 1884.  They had 13 children - 3 died either at birth or before they were 5 years old.  5 got married including Emily (twice) Agnes, Jenny, Cecil and Frederick.  All info thanks to FreeBMD!  Now I seem to have got stuck on 4 siblings and I wonder if they died in WW1.  They are Henry Arthur V Shrubsole, Ernest Benjamin K Shrubsole, John Spencer M Shrubsole and Alfred Edward J Shrubsole.  Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can find out?  Also, on the 1911 census - thanks again for that- I have Charles aged 1 - I can't find his birth - can anyone help.
Finally, Emily is listed on the 1911 census as daughter and widowed.  I know that this is true as she married again in Dec 1911 but what I do not understand is where her young daughter has gone to.  May Vera Eileen Blatchly would have been 2/3 years old.  Any ideas anyone?  Why isn't she living with her Mum?

Hi both of you
Yes you are good Carol!  Found Henry Arthur and he did die in WW1.  So what happened to Ernest, John & Alfred?  I would assume that Ernest followed his brother into the army but maybe John and Alfred were too young to join. Any ideas?

To find their deaths you are going to have to trawl through the indexes year by year and quarter by quarter.

Free BMD have only indexed deaths up to the early 1920's and the boys obviously lived till after that date.

Have you married them off yet?

Not had any luck with Charles birth or where little May is in 1911....maybe she's off visiting her other grandparents.Perhaps she was known by one of her many names not always May  ;D

Hi Carol

Looked right through FreeBMD and found the marriages of Agnes, Jenny (thanks to your help), Cecil and Frederick. Ernest Benjamin isn't on the 1891 census and should be as he was born in 1890.  He may have died or could be that he wasn't actually the son of Henry and Emily.  But there only seemed to be one Shrubsole family in Wandsworth and every one was registered, including their deaths even at birth.  However you are right that FreeBMD does not have everything on it.
Thanks again for all your help.  Have left a message on the Light Infantry website for further details regarding Henry and the possibility of Ernest.
